About

Glaire Anderson is Founding Director and Principal Consultant of the Digital Lab for Islamic Visual Culture & Collections (DLIVCC). She is an award-winning author, researcher, and international speaker, and has been featured on BBC Scotland, Times Higher Education, Apollo Magazine, and The Barakat Trust’s Ask the Expert podcast, among others.

Sarah Slingluff is the Digital Lab Education Coordinator, teaching Islamic history and art history - any level, no prior knowledge needed - to industry professionals who want to diversify their content with academically vigorous information.

Besides her work with game development teams (Ubisoft, Abertay University) and internally in the Digital Lab's games R&D, Sarah's experience is grounded in 10+ years in the classroom, her work with Arabic language sources, and ongoing work in archaeology. These provide her with unique approaches to teaching the art, architecture, and archaeology of early Islamic empire for students and professionals in games and entertainment.

Sarah's Values and Priorities:

Seeing everyone.
Supporting people’s creative visions.
Kindness.
Giving back.

Glaire and Sarah served as external consulting historians and art historians for Assassin’s Creed Mirage (Ubisoft, 2023) and its ‘History of Baghdad’ Codex feature.
